Belgrade Culture Tour

Itinerary

1. Day 1 — Arrival in Belgrade

   Meet-and-greet at Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport. City tour: the Bajrakli mosque, the Belgrade fortress with the Damat Ali Pasha mausoleum, the clock tower, the Sokollu Mehmed Pasha fountain, the Military Museum, the Istanbul, Zindan and Leopold gates, the Stefan Lazarević monument and the Nebojša tower, Kalemegdan park, the Cathedral Church, Republic Square, Terazije and Tašmajdan. The tour ends with a walk along Knez Mihailova street, the heart of the city, followed by free time for shopping and cafés. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Belgrade.

2. Day 2 — Belgrade – Sremski Karlovci – Novi Sad – Belgrade

   Breakfast and drive north into Vojvodina, Serbia's most prosperous region. First stop Sremski Karlovci, a small baroque town settled since prehistory, home of the first Serbian secondary school and seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church until 1922: the town hall, the Catholic church, the Four Lions fountain and the Chapel of Peace on the hill, where the 1699 Treaty of Karlowitz was signed. Free time, then continue to Novi Sad, capital of Vojvodina. Petrovaradin fortress with its view over the city, then the centre where Albert Einstein once lived: Liberty Square, the Svetozar Miletić statue, the Catholic cathedral, the Orthodox cathedral of Saint George, Saint Nicholas church and the synagogue. Free time in this lively city, then return to Belgrade. Overnight in Belgrade.

3. Day 3 — Belgrade and Danube boat trip

   Breakfast and a second day in the capital. Visit to the House of Flowers, the mausoleum of Josip Broz Tito, who led socialist Yugoslavia until 1980. Boat trip on the Danube, followed by free time by the river. Transfer to the hotel for a short rest, then dinner at a restaurant with a traditional live-music program. Overnight in Belgrade.

4. Day 4 — Belgrade – departure

   Breakfast and transfer to Belgrade airport at the agreed time for the onward flight. End of program.
